Which size suits which course?
The 7.5 and 10 cm squares are made for canapés, amuse-bouche and petit fours; 15 cm handles starters, sides and desserts; 20 and 25 cm carry full mains. Together they set a coherent, course-by-course table.
Will they hold up to saucy or oily dishes?
Yes. The pressed areca leaf is naturally oil- and leak-resistant, so curries, dressings and warm food sit happily without seeping. There is no wax or plastic lining doing the work — it is simply the density of the leaf itself.
Can I warm food on them or chill them ahead?
Both. They are freezer-safe for plating cold canapés in advance, and microwave-safe in short bursts to take the chill off a dish. For longer reheating, transfer food to a separate vessel.
Why does each square plate look slightly different?
Every plate is heat-pressed from one naturally fallen palm sheath, so the wood-like grain, tone and markings are unique to that leaf. The square cut stays consistent, while the surface pattern is one of a kind — no two plates on your table will match exactly.
